￼There are two Textbook Scholarships available for up to $500 each.
The awarded students will be reimbursed up to $500 for textbooks used for Mortuary Science courses; general education course textbooks are not eligible for the scholarship.
Reimbursement will be made immediately upon proof of purchase of the textbooks in the form of a receipt from the college bookstore, or program administrator. If not already printed on the receipt, the name of the textbook and the course (including course title and number) for which it was purchased should be included. The student may use the scholarship over multiple semesters until the full $500 is awarded.
The top 5 essays will also be published online by End of Life Insights. The application deadline for the Spring 2010 Textbook Scholarship Award is February 28, 2010.
Announcement of the scholarship winners will be made by End of Life Insights on or before March 31, 2010.
To complete the application process and have your essay reviewed you must:
Submit a letter from your Mortuary or Nursing school stating that you're currently enrolled in good standing at an ABFSE accredited program of Funeral Service or Mortuary Science Education, OR an accredited NLNAC Nursing Degree Program.
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (out of a 4.0 scale).
Submit all forms required by the Scholarship Committee. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Essays must be a minimum of 500 words, with a maximum of 1,000 words. Include a cover page with your name and contact information such as email, phone number, and home address in addition to the name of the College or University you are attending. Cite any references using the APA format.
After submitting the form you will receive an email confirmation that your application process has begun.
Two letters of recommendation are required from someone other than a family member or friend. The letters may be completed via our Online Recommendation Letter by your recommender, or submitted on official letterhead to the address below.
Submit the email confirmation, official transcripts from all colleges attended, a letter from your Mortuary School stating that you are in good standing, and one hardcopy of the essay to:

2010 College Scholarships
The Textbook Scholarship Program from End of Life Insights was established to provide financial awards to students enrolled in Mortuary Science and Nursing programs to assist them in obtaining funds to help cover the cost of textbooks while pursuing their college education.
