To complete the application process and have your essay reviewed you must:

• Submit a letter from your Mortuary or Nursing school stating that you're currently enrolled in good standing at an ABFSE accredited program of Funeral Service or Mortuary Science Education, OR an accredited NLNAC Nursing Degree Program.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (out of a 4.0 scale).
• Submit all forms required by the Scholarship Committee. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• The Textbook Scholarship form must be completed with our Online Scholarship Form.
• After submitting the form you will receive an email confirmation that your application process has begun.
• Two letters of recommendation are required from someone other than a family member or friend. The letters may be completed via our Online Recommendation Letter by your recommender, or submitted on official letterhead to the address below.
• Submit the email confirmation, official transcripts from all colleges attended, a letter from your Mortuary School stating that you are in good standing, and one hardcopy of the essay to:

Essay Question:
Please begin by explaining your area of study and how it relates to end of life service (funeral director; gerontology, hospice, or oncology nurse; etc.). Then discuss, as an end of life professional, how will you help the families you serve transition from living life with, to living life without their loved one?
Essays must be a minimum of 500 words, with a maximum of 1,000 words. Include a cover page with your name and contact information such as email, phone number, and home address in addition to the name of the College or University you are attending. Cite any references using the APA format.
