Have you heard that statistic that most people will change career fields (not jobs, careers) an average of 3 times or more, before the age of 50?

Well, I am the exception to that rule. Since the age of 17 I have been employed in the funeral service industry.  My life’s calling and work continues to be to help hurting people who have experienced a loss.

While working as a funeral director, I educated each family served, walking them through the rite of passage our society calls a funeral. As a Mortuary Science educator, I have the privilege and responsibility of teaching students aspiring to start their own death care related careers.

After educating one family at a time, then one class at a time, it is now time for me to educate you, the consumer. My mission is to advocate for you by educating you on a multitude of end of life issues.  In these blogs you will learn about the hospice movement, financial issues, wills, coroner involvement, organ and body donation, funeral homes, death certificates, and  bereavement  support.
